On March 20, Jennings spoke at the University of Lethbridge for this year’s annual academic speaking event hosted by the students’ union. Among his entertaining quips about life as a Jeopardy-winning trivia buff, there was a serious message: technology is changing the world as we know it, but that does not change the fact that learning is important.

The Michener Centre has served as an institution for individuals living with developmental disabilities since its opening in 1923. The province says they intend to move the 125 patients currently living at the Michener Centre to community homes.

The total 2013-14 provincial budget for the Ministry of Advanced Education is set at $787.7 million, up nine per cent from last year. This covers all of the province’s post-secondary institutions, including both the major universities and several Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology campuses.

The Saskatchewan government released the 2013-14 budget on March 23. Post-secondary institutions will receive a 2.1 per cent funding increase to their operating budgets, equaling $9.2 million, and well short of what they hoped for.
